Busy Mum Post Keep Kids Quiet!
I have done this post for those busy mums, the mothers who need an hours peace and quiet. Busy Mum Keep Kids Quiet!!
I am a Mother of four. The eldest two, aged 16 and 11, keep themselves busy. My son, the eldest child, is revising or going out with friends. My eldest daughter keeps busy by going to gymnastics five times a week. The Witches, my youngest two, keep me on my toes. They are aged 2 and 3 and like every child they are always on the prowl and saying “I want x!” or “Can I have x?” Are your children the same? This post contains *Affiliate links!!
How to keep a busy mum keep Kids quiet
I have a secret to share with you. If you have had a busy day at work, or you are just tired from looking after the kids all day, making lunch, deciding what to make for dinner or washing up, cleaning up, school pick up etc., I will show you how to keep the kids busy and get some quality “YOU” time. Maybe you just want to sit and read for an hour or, if you are like me, sitting down to a cuppa tea. I do now with my New Mugs!! Does this sound ACE or what?
No cheating mums by sticking on the television!!
What did I do to keep my little witches busy?
Easy and simple little things will keep the kids quiet. Mothers do not worry about your children making a mess!! Our house is constantly messy. How did I keep my little Witches quiet for over an hour?
Materials needed for an hours peace:
NO PAINT OR PVA GLUE NEEDED!!!
- paper, old letters, newspaper, printing paper, coloured paper, scrap card.
- cellotape (you could do with a cellotape holder, to make it easier for kids to pull off).
- wiggly eyes (sticky back), buttons or pom poms. Add things your children might like to stick with cellotape!!
- felt tips
If you leave all the things in the middle of the table, let your kids get on with it. Go and make yourself a cuppa and sit down with a book. Your kids will just get on with it, leave them to it and see what they can make with the things you have put out for them. I was totally surprised with what the Witches had made.
What did the Witches make?
The Witches started by cutting card and colouring them:
They cut these up into smaller pieces!!
More paper got cut up:
Colouring card again!!
I had no idea what the Witches were making. I stood back, took photo’s and made a cuppa. The Witches carried on cutting paper and card. They were no arguments, they shared the cellotape and were swapping scissors. They were both enjoying themselves. It was great to see them getting on with each other!!
Cutting paper up again!!
Coloured paper stuck down again:
I wasn’t tell them what to do, they had their own ideas!!
The Witches carried on cutting paper and sticking it down:
Different coloured paper got used. More Cellotape and more cutting!! It went on and on, I thought they were never going to stop!!
The Wiggly eyes were added. What are the Witches making? Do you know? Lets find out!!
More cutting again!!!Yep, the craft went on and on!! Will it ever end??
Yes it ended after a few more bits to stick down!!
The finished crafts by the Witches!!

I was very pleased with the Witches. They little Craft that they had created was FAB!! The Witches Kite will get used at the weekend and the Robot has been pinned up onto the wall. The Witches are very happy and pleased with themselves.
Mums you know you can do this. Follow these 3 easy steps:
- look for the materials needed around the house
- leave them on the table, or floor for easy access for the children
- let the kids get on with it, go and make a brew!
